Budget policy (budgetpolis)

A cheaper in-kind policy with fewer contracted care providers and sometimes extra restrictions.

Budget policy is not a legal policy type but a common name for an in-kind policy with a low premium. The insurer contracts fewer care providers (selective contracting). Sometimes extra conditions apply, such as contact with the insurer only online, or medicines only via a mail-order pharmacy. If you go to a provider without a contract, you often get less reimbursed than with a regular in-kind policy. So check in advance whether your hospital and other regular care providers have a contract.
