Dental insurance (tandartsverzekering)
Supplementary insurance for dental care that basic insurance does not cover.
For adults, basic insurance covers only a limited part of dental care, such as oral surgery and (partly) full dentures. Check-ups, fillings and crowns are paid by you or by dental insurance. For children under 18, basic insurance covers most regular dental care, but braces (orthodontics) are usually not covered. Dental insurance often has a maximum amount per year, a reimbursement percentage and sometimes a waiting period or health questions.
