Waiting period (wachttijd)
The period after taking out supplementary insurance during which certain care is not yet covered.
Some supplementary and dental policies only cover certain care after you have been insured for a while, for example orthodontics or crowns and bridges. This prevents people from taking out insurance just before an expensive treatment. The waiting period is set out in the policy terms and differs per package. Basic insurance may not have a waiting period. I show the waiting period in months for each package.
